BBC Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year 2009
BBC Radio 2 begins its search for this year's Young Choristers of the Year.
The RSCM is working with the BBC in its search for the Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year. Young girl and boy choristers are invited to apply for the competition, which aims to "affirm and encourage the contribution young people make to choirs and music groups in places of worship across the United Kingdom".
The winners, a boy and a girl, will receive a trophy and lessons with one of the UK's leading singing coaches. There will normally be opportunities for them also to appear both on national radio and television during the year.
To enter, boys or girls must under over 11 and under 17 years of age on 1st August 2009 and sing regularly in a church choir or music group. All the information you need is on the application form which you can download below. The closing date is 31st July 2009, and applications should be sent to the BBC, not the RSCM.
