A devotion for congregation and choir, first published in the 1950's.

This revised edition has been updated by Revd Peter Moger using Common Worship prayers and responses, but with the same format and readings as the original. An alternative set of readings, based on John’s Passion narrative, gives a fresh perspective.

The selection of music that has moved generations of church-goers remains the same, although re-set to enable a clearer score, so the music is fully compatible with the previous edition. Alternative hymns have been provided in the appendix.

As the congregational musical involvement in the Sunday parish Eucharist has increased, choirs have found that some of the repertoire that they traditionally have sung is now unison and sung by everyone.
