Welsh Eucharist podcast

Listen to this feature about The Welsh Eucharist / Cymun y Cymry, a bilingual setting of the 2004 Church in Wales Eucharist by John Harper.

Archbishop Barry Morgan

If you are looking for a communion setting for your church that's effective yet easy to sing, then this podcast is worth a listen.  For many churches in Wales (and elsewhere), the shortage of church musicians can mean that the inclusion of any music in worship is difficult. This setting by Professor John Harper, the Director General of the RSCM, can be sung in English and/or Welsh with or without accompaniment.

For this podcast, Stuart Robinson has been talking to John Harper who offers simple advice on how to learn the various movements, for use in a variety of situations from choral and music group to congregation without any keyboard support whatsoever.  We hear from those who have sung the setting, including Archbishop Barry Morgan (pictured left) and the singers and clergy at St David's Church in Nefyn on the Lleyn Peninsula.
