RSCM appoints Emeritus Director
Professor John Harper appointed Emeritus Director of the RSCM
The Council of the Royal School of Church Music has conferred the title of ‘Emeritus Director’ on Professor John Harper, in recognition of his contribution to the organisation over the past ten years.
Professor Harper retires as Director of the RSCM at the end of December 2007. He is now Director of the new International Centre for Sacred Music Studies at Bangor University, where he also continues to be RSCM Research Professor. His association with Sarum College in Salisbury, home of the RSCM administrative office, continues with his role there as Visiting Scholar.
From 1 January until 30 April 2008 the acting Chief Executive of the RSCM will be Julia Harrison Place, and the acting Deputy Chief Executive will be Sue Snell. Lindsay Gray will take up the post of Director of the RSCM on 1 May 2008.
