This sequence of words and music provides both the framework for a devotional service and a wide range of choral resources for use during Passiontide and Holy Week.

The 'stations' featured here are drawn from the selection in Common Worship: Times and Seasons. They follow the Passion narrative of the Gospel of Mark, from Gethsemane to Calvary, with readings and prayers.

The choral music offers flexibility in a wide range of styles and levels of difficulty for choirs of all standards. Congregational items include established Passiontide hymns and contemporary worship songs.

New or previously unpublished music includes:

  • It is a thing most wonderful (Peter Moger)
  • Wonderful Cross (Philip Wilby)
  • The song of Christ's glory (Grayston Ives)

The Way of the Cross provides a valuable addition to the music and liturgy of Passiontide and Holy Week for churches of all sizes.
