RSCM Legacy Society Service

Yesterday we were pleased to welcome some members of the RSCM Legacy Society and relatives of people who had left us gift in wills to Sarum College for their annual special service. A small choir of staff and choristers from local member churches led the fine singing from the congregation and this was followed by a lunch.

During the afternoon guests heard about the late Queen’s coronation in 1953 when there were 400 choristers. Trevor Jarvis, long-time staff member and currently Assistant Archivist and Librarian, explained the RSCM’s involvement and then Allan Ledger, who had been 9 at the time and a chorister at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, recalled his experiences of the run up to the event and the day itself. We are grateful to him for sharing his memories and memorabilia.

You can find out more about leaving bequests to the RSCM and about the Legacy Society here.
